My 9 year old son has attended occupational therapy at SISO in Mapo for 1.5 years. He is in a weekly social skills group, paired with one English speaking child the same age and an English speaking therapist, for 70 minutes. The sessions are fun for the kids and the therapy has been helpful for my son in improving his social skills and gaining confidence. The office took whatever measures were needed to become a Tricare provider for me.

Travel therapist:

My son has also worked with a travel therapist, who visited his international school once a week as the school did not have one on staff. She is knowledgeable with working with neurodiverse children and is communicative over text and email. She also works in a clinic setting and is a PhD candidate, so has limited availability. She is familiar with NDSP funding and charges…

My 9 year old son worked with Dorthy for over a year for articulation. She made their weekly 60 minute sessions fun, and he always looked forward to seeing her. She came both to his school and the community center on base, and is knowledgeable of the procedures for embassy and military families (funding, VARs, etc.). She has also visited students at local preschools like ECLC. Dorthy is familiar with documentation that comes with American IEPs and made it easy for me to obtain extended school year speech services. Her schedule is limited though, as she goes to Pyeongtaek twice a week.

If looking for a more conservative skin laser treatment, I recommend trying the Pico toning laser at VandS Yongsan, across from ipark mall. I booked the 1+1 deal for 9900 KRW - yes, that’s correct - 2 treatments for 9900 KRW. (You must wait at least 2 weeks in between treatments). I’ve also taken advantage of their German Botox, Xeomin, deal and am very happy with the results! There are English translation services available as well as initial consultation upon your first visit. Be warned, it is very “hospital like” setting when you enter the actual treatment area.

For informational purposes, my concerns were melasma/Sun damage as well as wrinkles. I broke my last pair of glasses today and needed a new pair urgently. Africa_Yongsan at ipark mall, on level B1, used my prescription from my broken glasses and had a new pair ready for me in less than 30 minutes. The price was so good I ended up getting 2 pairs (about $250 total for 2 RayBan brand frames). The staff spoke English well and did not try to upsell me on more expensive glasses or lenses. Would absolutely use them again for my optical needs.

A friend of a friend who graduated top of his class from Yonsei University's dental school, so you know you're in good hands. His prices are much more reasonable than the places I used to go to in Itaewon.

I emailed HU with a request for an MRI because of recent knee pain and got wonderful results thanks to HU, Bumin Hospital, and Anton who is the English guide for patients.

HU worked with Anton (ethnic Korean from Kyrgystan) and got me scheduled to see a doctor within a week!

Driving to the Hospital was ezpz and there is a valet service at the facility. The valet kept my key and parked my car at a parking lot across the street. When you get there, go to the info desk (who knows who we are because we only speak English) they will find Anton.

Here's the best part: within FOUR HOURS, I was seen by a doctor, got an MRI, got an X-ray, performed a physical therapy evaluation & cryo recovery session, saw the original doctor AGAIN, and got a collagen (like PRP) injection in my knee with…
